Daily Health: A personal message from Dr. Angela

At Barrow Family Chiropractic, I often remind patients that health is shaped less by big injuries and more by the small things repeated every day. This is what we refer to as micro stress.
Micro stress is the gradual buildup of everyday physical strain from habits like sitting for long periods, phone use, driving, lifting, repetitive work positions, and always using one side of the body. Over time, the body adapts to these patterns, even when they aren’t ideal.
That adaptation can lead to so many issues but more importantly it can affect how efficiently the nervous system is communicating and regulating stress throughout the body.
What we often see clinically is the body holding tension as a protective response. While this is normal, it can become chronic and limit how freely you move and function.
Chiropractic care helps address these patterns by improving spinal motion, reducing areas of restriction, and supporting better nervous system function. Soft tissue work can also help release built-up tension so the body can move with more ease.
Outside the clinic, small changes matter—like changing positions often, reducing repetitive strain, staying consistent with homecare, improving posture with devices, alternating how you carry things, and prioritizing rest.
Micro stress builds through repetition, not one event. My goal is to help you recognize these patterns early so your body can stay balanced, mobile, and resilient in everyday life.
