What Our Patients Say
Frequently Asked Questions
Chiropractic care is a non-invasive healthcare practice that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, with a particular emphasis on spinal adjustments. Chiropractors believe that misalignments of the spine can cause a variety of health problems by interfering with the nervous system. By using a variety of techniques, including adjustments, massage, and other therapies, chiropractors aim to alleviate pain, restore mobility, and promote overall wellness.
Chiropractic care can be effective in treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and sports injuries. Additionally, chiropractic care may help with other health issues, such as digestive problems, asthma, and allergies. Your chiropractor will perform an evaluation and determine if chiropractic care is appropriate for your condition.
Your very first visit to our clinic will be a discovery process to determine the source of your health concerns. Please note that before your first visit you will be asked to complete a detailed health history online.
You will then experience a thorough consultation and spinal examination. This will determine any abnormal alignment and motion patterns and how these could be detrimentally affecting your central and peripheral nervous systems and subsequent organ function. If any further imaging studies are necessary, this will be arranged to take place at a partnering office in Orangeville.
After the examination, and if we determine you are a good candidate for reconstructive or structural chiropractic care, we will then arrange for your next visit, which is the Doctor's Report.
At the Doctor's Report, you will recieve a detailed overview of how structural chiropractic care works as well as the evidence supporting the specialized work that they do. This takes place in a small group setting with other new patients.
Your doctor will privately review the results of your examination and any radiographs taken with you, as well as care recommendations for your specific case.
Generally, adjustments should be pain-free, but some people may experience soreness similar to post-workout soreness. It's worth noting that even newborns can safely undergo adjustments, and we treat patients ranging from newborns to seniors in their 90s.
Yes, chiropractic care is generally considered safe and is performed by a qualified and licensed chiropractor. As with any medical procedure, there are some risks associated with chiropractic care, such as soreness, discomfort, or temporary stiffness after treatment. However, serious complications are rare.
